Second visit! Yes, that is how good they are! Plus Nabila had me at brioche~~ For those who doesn’t know what brioche buns are, it’s actually a French origin pastry that is high in butter and egg content. It’s kind of a cross between bread and pastry. A perfect brioche has to have that crunchy almost crumbly outer layer and soft airy fresh bread like middle….and The Gallery achieved that! So glad they’re breaking out of the norm of just using regular sesame seed buns or the over-rated charcoal buns for their burger. *thumbs up*
To start things off, we ordered a Cream of Mushroom Soup to share. I always tend to go for the most basic and common choice of soup because you could roughly know if the chefs are passionate about what they’re doing. The soup was creamy, chunky and hey, they even threw in some croutons. But that’s not just it, to make it even more earthy they’ve also roughly shredded some oyster shroomies and deep fry them to give it a slight crunchy texture. Now that’s sexy. So I guess it’s safe to say that they really do cook with their heart and soul!
Jeff had the Farfalle alla Ragu di Manzo. It’s packed with so much flavour I could imagine myself eating bowls and bowls of it. But not tonight my darlings. Tonight (or any other meals in fact) I went full on manly grub – the recently improvised TG Lord Burger using brioche buns. The buns as mentioned were baked with love. It’s crunchy but buttery soft on the inside and the cheese stuffed patty was so juicy (like crazy juicy).
Tonight’s visit was all because of the brioche and madeleines. I had made it so obvious about my love and curiosity for madeleines Chef Shaufi and Nabila pampered us with those cute warm French pillows after meal. *blush* And they’re really delicious. It’s so light and fresh you could still be able to finish it even after a pretty heavy meal. With that being said, I ate most of it tonight hehehe.
We were privileged enough to have a little chat with Chef Shaufi and Nabila tonight and damn must I say, they are one amazing couple. It’s not easy for couples (married or not) to work together so well under the same roof and that’s why they’ve earned my respect. I guess they’ve found the ultimate secret to success~ Good job guys and keep it up! 😉
And as always, we’re grateful of the hospitality that Nabila, Chef Shaufi and team has shown us. xoxo
