It’s been a busy 2 weeks for us. So what better way than to pamper ourselves on our lovely day off by doing what we love – drink, eat and snap. 😉
We’ve finally had the time to visit the infamous Merchant’s Lane in Petaling Street. It’s been a really long time of drooling and finally we get to visit them today!
First of all, love the high geometric ceiling and how they only did minimal renovation to maintain the integrity of the original outlook! Love how airy it feels although it’s so hot and hazy outside (thank you oh so much Indonesia!). There’re 3 different sections in this really hip cool joint which I call:-
1. the I’m-not-an-agoraphobic main dining area
2. the chill-out(side) area
3. the I-like-my-space; a smaller dining room after the outdoor seating area
Mouthwatering list of food and beverage option is always a must I’m sure. And they have loads of goodies to choose from, including desserts!
So this is from our visit today.
[As a salmon groupie himself, he ordered the South China Sea. Do note that the poached eggs and salmon is served cold. It’s not something I would want to have for brunch but its really worth the try. The salsa on top just offsets the rest of the elements perfectly with the crunchy housemade hash browns.]
[I on the other hand, ordered the hearty Hongkie Beef Stew. The flavour of this dish is really good and I really like the concept of serving chunky mashed potatoes instead of white rice. But I’d prefer the meat to be slightly more to those melt-in-your-mouth texture because when I had it today it’s pretty tough.]
